Our Programs
The Arizona Educational Foundation – AEF - identifies, recognizes and rewards excellent students, teachers, schools, and administrators through its programs.
The goals of the Arizona Educational Foundation are to:
- Administer high quality, well-known and sought-after programs that develop and celebrate excellence in Arizona’s students, teachers, schools, and school leaders.
- Serve as a resource to facilitate sharing of best practices among educators to promote excellence in education.
- Foster partnerships and raise awareness about AEF™ and its mission among educators, government offices, the private sector and the public to benefit the educational community.
These goals are met through the following programs:
A+ School of Excellence Program & A+ Exemplary Programs
The AEF A+ School of Excellence Program identifies, recognizes and celebrates outstanding Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade public schools that serve as models of overall educational excellence in Arizona.
AEF’s Teacher of the Year Program is the only statewide program to spotlight and honor Arizona’s public school teachers. Each year AEF solicits applications from teachers statewide and honors 10 teachers at its annual awards luncheon in November.
Principals’ Leadership Academy of Arizona
This 9-month academy prepares new and aspiring principals to be effective leaders and lead their schools to excellence.
Winners from every county in Arizona compete annually to determine who will represent Arizona in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C.
Establishes, builds and maintains beneficial, meaningful, sustainable relationships between public education and business to positively affect students.
Polly Rosenbaum Writing Contest
Winners of this creative writing contest for students in grades 7 through 12 are recognized at the Arizona State Capitol on Statehood Day.
