As we’ve shared on this blog earlier this month, we invite teachers and legislators to spend some rare one-on-one time together through our Take Your Legislator to School initiative each September.
In partnership with the Arizona K12 Center and the Arizona Education Association, AEF matches Arizona public school teachers with the legislators in their district.
Rep. Bob Robson (R-18) and Akimel A-al Middle School Teacher and 2016 AEF Arizona Teacher of the Year Ambassador for Excellence Beth Snyder spent Thursday morning together. See the photos below from their visit.
Beth Snyder teaches 6th grade science at Akimel A-al Middle School in the Kyrene School District. This is Beth’s eighth year teaching and 15th year in a classroom. She has experience teaching middle school math, 5th grade, and Kindergarten. Teaching children to love themselves and each other is a labor of passion for Beth. She believes that there is no curriculum more important than human connection.
Representative Bob Robson has represented the people of the Southeast Valley at the Arizona Legislature since January 2001. He was appointed as Vice Chairman of the House Rules Committee and Member of the House Appropriations Committee during his first term. He served on the Chandler City Council from 1992-2000, and was elected by his peers as the Vice Mayor. Bob Robson’s desire to develop a sustained and healthy economy led to his membership on the Greater Phoenix Economic Council Strategic Policy Committee. Robson has also served on the Planning and Zoning Commission and on the Neighborhood Preservation and Revitalization Study Committee.
Bob feels that the budget and public safety are the top responsibilities of state government. He has a proven record of support for public safety officers. He also feels that investment in the education of our children is the fundamental key for success for the future of our civilization.
