ARIZONA TEACHER OF THE YEAR
Each year, through the Arizona Teacher of the Year® program, AEF® spotlights the contributions of fifteen outstanding public school teachers throughout Arizona. One is named the AEF Arizona Teacher of the Year® and represents the state in the National Teacher of the Year competition. Four finalists are named "Ambassadors for Excellence," five are named Semifinalists, and the remaining five are Honorable Mentions.
The top fifteen are honored each Fall at the annual Teacher of the Year Awards ceremony where the winner is announced. AEF® is an official partner of the National Teacher of the Year program administered by the Council of Chief State School Officers.
ARIZONA TEACHER OF THE YEAR NOMINATIONS
Teachers may self-nominate, be nominated by a student, co-worker, administrator, school or district committee, friend or family member.
*Note: Submitting several nominations for the same teacher does NOT give them an advantage. Teachers nominated must still submit the Teacher of the Year application and meet all eligibility requirements in order to be considered.
The deadline for 2025 Arizona Teacher of the Year nominations is May 20th, 2024.
ARIZONA TEACHER OF THE YEAR AWARDS, TICKETS & SPONSORSHIP
Considered the "Oscars" of the teaching profession, the Arizona Teacher of the Year® Awards is a glorious celebration of Arizona educators! Each year, from hundreds of nominations, fifteen Arizona teachers are identified as finalists, semifinalists, and honorable mentions for our state's highest teaching profession honor. The Arizona Educational Foundation's Arizona Teacher of the Year program is a component of CCSSO's National Teacher of the Year Awards. The teacher selected as Arizona Teacher of the Year goes on to represent our state in consideration for the National Teacher of the Year title.
