Spheres of Industry

Where classrooms meet careers—and students discover who they’re meant to be.

What is Spheres of Industry?

Spheres of Industry is a bold new AEF initiative igniting career exploration for K–8 students. By sparking curiosity, building confidence, and connecting learning to real-world opportunities, students are immersed in the industries powering Arizona’s economy—from renewable energy and aerospace to healthcare, agriculture, water, and advanced manufacturing.

Through hands-on projects, educator training, and industry partnerships, students discover not just what they want to do, but who they want to be—preparing them to thrive with purpose and possibility in a rapidly changing world.

How Spheres of Industry Works

Inspiring students to connect what they learn today with who they’ll become tomorrow.

Standards-aligned, grade-level appropriate units organized around essential questions and workforce themes connected to Arizona’s major industries.

Educators participate in professional development sessions that prepare them to deliver project-based lessons and integrate career literacy into core subjects.

Local businesses and professionals collaborate with schools to co-design experiences like classroom visits, virtual field trips, and real-world problem-solving challenges.

Student-led exhibitions demonstrate industry-inspired projects to families, educators, and community leaders.

Schools successfully completing all requirements earn a “Sphere of Industry” credential.
