Arizona Spelling Bee
Spelling Bees are powerful energizers for schools to bolster student literacy, including reading comprehension, vocabulary building and verbal speaking skills.

Over 500K Students Compete in the Arizona Spelling Bee Every Year
Open to all students and schools around the state, the Arizona Spelling Bee inspires participants across schools, districts and counties, helping them build literacy skills and self-confidence. AEF provides leadership and guidance to thousands of teachers, librarians and volunteer spelling coordinators to ensure the success of local and regional spelling bees. As the official state partner of the Scripps National Spelling Bee, each spring we also host the Arizona Spelling Bee State Finals, where 28 county-level champions compete for the top three spots. The winning students then go on to represent Arizona on the national stage at the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

How the AZ Spelling Bee Works
Arizona students put their spelling skills to the test each year through AEF’s Arizona Spelling Bee program. Open to all students, the program promotes literacy, builds self-confidence and encourages a love for language.
