Training for Educators

As part of AEF’s commitment to innovative learning, both the Innovation Lab and the Levin Educator Training Center support teachers, administrators and nonprofits with unique and innovative learning opportunities.

Levin Educator Training Center

Coming from a family of public-school educators, Renee Levin and Denise Levin-Signorelli know the value of a good education. That appreciation prompted Renee to get involved with AEF more than 15 years ago, first as a board member then as a staff member. When the opportunity to fund the new Educator Training Center presented itself, they jumped at the chance! “We’re honored to support public education in memory of our grandmothers, who both only completed elementary school but were strong influences in our lives,” said the sisters. “We know firsthand how much AEF supports teachers, and are confident this facility will provide much-needed professional development.”

The Levin Educator Training Center is a lively space for learning and sharing. It serves as the hub of in-person trainings through the AEF Academy, featuring a variety of seating arrangements, charging tables, and state-of-the-art audio-visual capabilities.

Innovation Lab

The Innovation Lab centers around four main areas: CAD and 3-D, Robotics and Virtual Reality, Microelectronics and Coding, and Entrepreneurship with graphic design. Teacher training workshops are provided throughout the year around these four themes. The Innovation Lab is also opened for “library hours” for teachers to use outside of schools. The Innovation Lab at AEF is changing how teachers utilize technology in Arizona’s classrooms!
