Encanto Elementary School
About this Designation"Encanto School epitomizes what an A+ learning environment looks like. This exceptional school is built on a foundation of positive culture, collaboration, and communication. Everything implemented at Encanto serves a purpose within a larger, systematic framework designed to benefit students. Teachers frequently drive over an hour each way to work at Encanto, exemplifying their belief that the school is truly a family. The staff's child-first mindset and consistent delivery shape an atmosphere where each student feels capable of excelling.
One successful strategy woven throughout Encanto's fabric is the Zones of Regulation. This program gives students the tools to express their emotions productively during the school day, allowing them to feel safe and focused on learning. Because the Zones provide a common language across grade levels, students internalize self-awareness and self-management skills that will serve them beyond Encanto's walls.
Principal Carranza's distributive leadership philosophy empowers teachers to step into leadership roles. Encanto educators are open to experimenting with new instructional approaches, readily sharing their ideas and experiences with colleagues. Carranza believes this willingness to take risks all comes back to a passion for doing what's best for students.
During our visit, the warmth and care demonstrated by both students, staff and parents impressed us. It was evident that Encanto School nurtures the whole child, not just the intellect. We observed high-level thinking and joyful participation happening in many classes as teachers creatively tailored lessons to reach every student. "
