Francis M. Pomeroy Elementary School
About this DesignationThe Pomeroy Panther Community is a close-knit family that supports one another in extraordinary ways. From positive practices of maximizing potential, to empowering students through meaningful and extensive experiences, each student, staff member, and family continue to build upon Pomeroy's Legacy of Excellence through their overt PRIDE for their school home. This PRIDE is seen from the crosswalk through the office and in and out of the classrooms and grounds. One kindergartner shared, "This is the best school I have every had!" proving that first impressions are lasting ones!
*Students are offered a large variety of experiences to meet their individual needs from a school within a school model with their Montessori component, to various clubs, programs, family events, and safe spaces like a calming corner in each room and a purposeful Maker Space in their Media Arts Center for creating and building.
*Staff have created a positive and inclusive environment in their learning and growing spaces throughout the school. Student engagement was at a premium while teachers were observed consistently asking relevant questions to extend student thinking.
*Systems at Pomeroy are seamless; hence, a positive and calming positive feeling tone is felt throughout the school. This is a great testament to the leadership and staff for supporting students' safety and learning in a way that reflects best practices while remaining focused on perpetual improvement!- Most Recent Year: 2022

Franklin Accelerated Academy East Campus
About this DesignationFrom the very beginning, it was evident that Franklin East was an example of an exemplary Arizona public school. Franklin East's dedication and passion for their entire community came through loud and clear on their A+ application. Because of this, we couldn't wait to visit their campus.
During our two days of observations, we witnessed so many beautiful examples of a strong community in action. More specifically, we saw a trend of connection and relationships. We observed staff working to authentically connect and engage with students, families and their peers. Each and every person was unified in fulfilling Franklin East's mission of ""educating students in a positive learning environment with high expectations and an accelerated curriculum.""
We enthusiastically recommend Franklin East to be awarded with the A+ School of Excellence designation.
