Public Schools

Classroom → School Spelling Bee → District Level Spelling Bee → County/Regional Bee → Arizona Spelling Bee State Finals

Charter Schools

Classroom Spelling Bee → School Wide Spelling Bee → District/Organization Level Spelling Bee → County/Regional Bee → Arizona Spelling Bee State Finals

PLEASE NOTE: If there are multiple charter schools operating under the same LEA, CMO, EMO, (such as BASIS, Great Hearts, Legacy, etc.), you must hold a run-off to select the student(s) that will advance to the county/regional bee. Independent Charter (Non-Network)

Most Independent Charter (Non-Network) school enroll directly with Scripps and advance straight to their county/regional spelling bee. However, if there are multiple charter schools operating under the same LEA, CMO, EMO, (such as BASIS, Great Hearts, Legacy, etc.), the following competition structure must be followed:

Classroom Spelling Bee School Wide Spelling Bee District/Organization Level Spelling Bee County/Regional Bee → Arizona Spelling Bee State Finals

Private School

Homeschools

Most homeschool students enroll directly with Scripps and advance straight to their county/regional spelling bee. However, if a homeschool operates as part of an organization or collective with multiple students participating, the following competition structure must be followed:
