Hartford Sylvia Encinas Elementary School is blessed to have an incredible leader who drives everything that permeates throughout the school. What is important to Mrs. Anguiano has become important to the staff, students and community. The culture is one of connectedness, welcoming, consistency, empathy, helpfulness, high expectations academically and behaviorally, and all with a student first mentality. The leadership, staff, students, and community should be commended for creating a safe place where students feel welcomed, included and valued. Students are the greatest resource we have as a society and Hartford is providing every opportunity they can for the students and community to be successful in the future. Hartford has undoubtedly earned the A+ distinction.

Character traits are a focus on this campus. Kindness and respect can be felt throughout each classroom from the way teachers work with students to the interactions between the students themselves.
The dual platform model is taught with intentionality. Work has been done by administration to balance teacher load.
Teamwork is a focus on the campus - students belong to all.
As stated in the application, thinking maps are utilized in classrooms to support organization in multiple subject areas.
The parents and community are connected to the campus with active participation.
Administration (principal and dean) take a hands-on approach with students.
IE: Football team created to build community and offer students a team option."
